IMMIGRATION TO CANADA
Generally speaking, anyone from anywhere around the world who meets the immigration requirements and selection criteria is qualified to apply to immigrate to Canada. Canada has a long tradition of welcoming immigrants. Canada receives over 250,000 immigrants per year (with an increasing amount). United Nations (UN) has rated Canada the best country in the world for overall quality of life for the past several years. Canadians enjoy a comfortable standard of living, good health care, social security, a high level of education, and a relatively safe and clean environment. "The Charter of Rights and Freedoms" entrenched in the Canadian constitution guarantees such fundamental rights as equality, mobility and legal rights, as well as freedom of speech, assembly and association

IMMIGRATION CATEGORIES

  • Independent(skilled worker)
This method is for persons who have skills, training and experience to meet Canadian labour market needs. Independent immigrants are assessed on a set of specific criteria, for which points are awarded. The main criteria are related to the applicant's occupation. The applicant must have skills, qualifications and experience in an occupation on the General Occupation list, unless the person has a job offer approved by a Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) in Canada. Other criteria include age, education, knowledge of English and/or French and personal suitability. A minimum of 67 points is required to qualify.

  • Business Immigrant
In the immigrant invest program, applicants make their $400,000 investment to the receiver general for Canada at national headquarter in Ottawa (NHQ). And after the five-year holding period remit the NHQ returns the investor's $400,000 without interest.

  • Entrepreneurs
An entrepreneur must establish or buy a business in Canada. There is no set amount to invest, but it should be sufficient to establish the business within two years, while supporting the entrepreneur and his family. The entrepreneur is expected to participate actively in managing the business. The business must contribute to the Canadian economy and create one or more jobs in Canada in addition to the jobs created for the entrepreneur and his family. The entrepreneur is admitted on the condition that these requirements are met within two years of landing, and is expected to meet regularly with an immigration office to monitor compliance with the terms and conditions.

  • Self-employed
Self-employed applicants must be able to establish or buy a business in Canada, which will provide employment for themselves and will make an economic or cultural contribution to Canada.
